أموت، ولا أموت، فلا أبالي/فهذا العمر من نسج الخيال". لقد مضى المعلم لكنه لم يمت في قلوب محبيه ومريديه فأصحاب الرسالات يملأون العقول والقلوب، نوراً وهدى فلقد أعطى الرجل كل ما يملك لخدمة قومه وقضيته لكنه أبقى على الكثير من الحكمة التي يفتقدها عالمنا اليوم. إن الكتابة عن الرجل أشبه ما تكون بالمقامرة، فكل المراثي والقصائد لن تفيه حقه مهما ضمنها أصحابها من عبارات المديح والرثاء. إن قائداً بحجم كمال جنبلاط هو ما تحتاجه الأجيال الطالعة من بين براثن البؤس والحرمان فهو كما قالت صحيفة تايمز "كان يتميز بقدرة جعلته يتفوق على جميع السياسيين اللبنانيين المعاصرين، كما كان لديه برنامج سياسي يتضمن الكثير الذي يصلح للشعب اللبناني ككل".
كان كمال جنبلاط عملاقاً بكل المقاييس عاش زاهداً، تغلبت نزعته الصوفية على السياسة، فكان سلوكه مثالاً للعفة والعفوية في السياسة. ولقد شاءت الدار التقدمية أن تجمع في هذا الكتاب بعض ما قيل في المعلم على لسان عارفيه ومعاصريه بمناسبة انقضاء ربع قرن على رحيله فجاء الكتاب في أربعة أبواب الباب الأول للكلمات التي ألقيت في ذكرى الأربعين للمعلم الشهيد في 1997/5/1. الباب الثاني، شخصيات تستذكر كمال جنبلاط. الباب الثالث، السلطة الرابعة وكمال جنبلاط، جنبلاط بقلم الصحافة المحلية والصحافة العالمية، أما الباب الرابع، فهو للقصائد التي قيلت فيه.
