نقدِّم هذا العلم في كتابنا للدارسين والمتعلمين من الطلبة الجامعيين وغيرهم، متوخِّين فيه الأسلوب المُبسَّط، بأمثلةٍ فيها من الشرح الوافي والتعليل الدقيق الذي تفتقر إليه كتب البلاغة، إذ وجدناها تكتفي بإشارات لعددٍ ضئيل من الأمثلة التي ظلَّت هي مدار الدرس من دون جديد لها عبر الأجيال، وكأنَّ البلاغة توقفت عندها، وإنْ كررنا منها لغرض الربط مع كتب التراث، لكن سِقنا الكثير من الأمثلة متقصِّين ما فيها لمادة موضوعاتنا، فضلاً عن ذلك أشرنا لبعض المشتركات التي تتفق فيها بعض الموضوعات التي تتعالق مع المناهج النقدية الحديثة لا سيما منهج القراءة والتلقي، كذلك المشتركات في موضوعات علم البيان؛ ممَّا يتوالد من طريف التشبيهات مثلاً؛ لينتج لنا كنايات، ومن الإستعارات التي تتداخل وتتناسل؛ لتنتج لنا مجازات؛ لنكون قد قدَّمنا شيئاً للدارس الكريم، وللغتنا العربية ذات الدلالات الوهاجة بضياء معانيها وبوسائل تشكيلاتها وطريف مغانيها.
