علم البلاغة أجل العلوم قدراً، وأرفعها منزلة، وأرسخها قدماً، لأنه العلم الذي يقوم على إستخراج دور البيان من مكامنها، وهو الغاية التي تنتهي إليها الأنظار، واللآلئ التي يتطلبها خاصة البحار، فلولاه ما نطق الإنسان الدر ونفث السحر: "إن البيان لسحراً وإن من الشعر لحكمة".
يقدم المؤلف كتاب "الواضح في البلاغة" للدارسين المعنيين بلغة (الضاد) وهي لغة القرآن الكريم الذي نزل بلسان عربي مبين، وقد بدأه بعلم (البيان) جرياً على إصطلاح المتقدمين من أئمة البلاغة في إطلاقها على البيان من باب تسمية الكل بإسم الجزء، وقد حرص على ألا يشغل القارئ بالترجمة لمن كان لهم فضل السبق في هذا الميدان من أمثال السكاكي، والقزويني، والجرجاني وغيرهم.
فليس هذا مجال البحث، أو الخلاف بينهم حول بعض مسائله، ولم يعن بذكر أسماء بعض الشعراء الذين ورد ذكرهم في هذا الكتاب حتى لا يطول البحث ويشغل القارئ بالحواشي عن الهدف والمضمون، وما ورد من شعر يصعب على القارئ فهمه ويعزب عن الذهن معناه علق عليه بإيجاز، وآثار أن تكون أمثلة الكتاب من القرآن الكريم، والحديث الشريف، وما أثر عن العرب المتقدمين والمتأخرين من شعر أو نثر.
