في لحظة تاريخية حرجة، وربما هي مفترق طرق، يصوغ الشاعر السوري "نزيه أبو عفش" تجربته الخاصة شعراً؛ وباستقلال تام عن الخطاب الأيديولوجي المهيمن، لإسماع صوت الذات المقموعة، والانغماس أكثر بقضية الإنسان الوجودية. كل هذا جعل من شاعرنا يشجو بترنيماته، ويبعث بها كرسائل ونصوص تتسلل بعمق إلى وجدان القارئ بكل ما تحمله من شوق ولهفة ومشاعر إنسانية تميز بها أبو عفش، حتى وصفه أخدهم بـ "الشاعر الأعزل والحزين".
تشكل قصائد الديوان صوراً متفرقة من الحياة، تتجاذب من الداخلي الحميم الخصوصي إلى الفردي الجماعي، وفي المديين لحظة ينبوعية تجعل من الذاتي خروجاً إلى الآخر ومن الجماعي امتداداً للذات.
تحت عنوان (زريبة أحلام..) يقول الشاعر: "لطالما قيل لي: "يا ولد!/ أنت لا تصلح لأن تكون حارساً ولا صياداً"/ فحين يخطر لي أن أنام/ أروح أنظر إلى السماء فوقي/ فلا اترك فيها نجمة واحدة/ إلا وأودعها في خزائن تنهداتي/ وإذ يكون علي أن أضل صاحياً يغلبني شيء لذيذ ما/ فأتكئ على ذراع نفسي/ وأنعس على أريكة الأحلام...".
يضم الديوان ما يقارب الأربعون قصيدة في الشعر العربي نذكر من عناوينها: "راعي البياض"، "لعله الحب"، "باب الليل"، "بين ربيعين"، زريبة أحلام"..إلخ.
