ديوان الشعر الماثل أمامكم استلزم مني جهداً كثيراً وعناءً، لمدة جاوزت ثلاثة أعوام، أبحث في ساحة صور الولاية، وبمشقة أكثر بين الصخور في قراها علّي أظفر بشيء من الشعر المخبأ هناك بين أوراق الماضي، رغم عزوف حفظة الحاضر عن البوح بما لديهم، وقرى ولاية إبراء ووادي بني خالد ووادي دماء والطائيين ووادي بني جابر وجعلان بني بو حسن، وسواها من مدن شرقيّ عُمان. ولا أرى بحال أني تمكنت من جميع ما نطق به حافظ المسكري شعراً، ولكني ما زلت على أمل أن يبادر النافرون من دواوين الشعر بالبوح بما لديهم وتدوينه في طبعة قادمة لشعر حافظ والله الحافظ والمعين.
