في مجموعتها القصصية "ماسات رخيصة" تعري الكاتبة المها سعيد الواقع الاجتماعي المعاش، في عالم تختلط فيه القيم وتنعدم المعايير، فتختار مجموعة من الحالات الإنسانية المختلفةن بمساراتها المفترقة، حيث تشكل كل قصة حالة خاصة وعامة بنفس الوقت، فتطالعنا بقصة "أريد خبزاً ولو فتات" تبرز من خلالها الهوة بين واقع يتضور فيه الناس جوعاً يحلمون فقط برغيف خبز؛ وواقع آخر يتمثل بالغنى الفاحش، والمفارقة الساخرة أن رغيب الخبز لا يأتي سوى في أحلام اليقظة كحال تلك الفتاة التي تنتظر ذلك الرجل الذي سيأتي بسيارته الفارهة ليعطيها ثمن رغيف خبز لأخيها الصغير "فإن شبع فسأعاود أحلامي باليقظة ولكن ليوم غدٍ فانا لا زلت أتأمل بعيني تلك العيون الباكية والسهام القاتلة بالجدار، والذي بالشق الآخر منه يكون بيتنا فهل ستأتي تلك السيارة التي أحلم بقدومها كل مساء؟؟ وهل سيشبع أخي لو عاد للحياة أم أن جوعاً آخر سيقتله؟؟".
أما في القصة التي تحمل عنوان "بأي حالٍ عُدت يا عيدُ" فتُبرز الكاتبة العيوب التي سيطرت بل غلفت قلوب البشر بالحقد والشر، وضرورة التخلص منها بالحب ونشر قيم التسامح والعطاء فتقول على لسان البطلة "هل أعمى الحقد قلوبنا وحوّلنا لبشر لا إنسانيينن نهجر من أجل همسة، نقتل لخاطر كلمة، نسُب ونقذف ونلعن للاشيء؟".
وعلى هذا الإيقاع تتناسل الحكايات، تتقاطع وتتداخل، تتشابه وتفترق، وتشكل جميعها حكاية الإنسان التي يتم قولها بطرق متعددة، بطريقة تُزاوج بين تقنيتي السرد المباشر، والحلم وبلغة شفافةن تتخفف من الأثقال اللغوية (البلاغة والإنشائية) ما يعكس مهنية واضحة في فن السرد الروائي.
تضم المجموعة ما يزيد عن العشرون قصة قصيرة جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "أريد خبزاً ولو فتات"، "بأي حالٍ عُدت يا عيدُ"، "بلوتوث"، "العالم بين يديك"، "يا بخت بخيتة"، "غرق العروس"، "طوارئ.. للطوارئ" وقصص أخرى.
