عارف حجاوي (وُلد في 19 فبراير 1956 في نابلس) هو كاتبٌ فلسطيني عمل في مهنتي التعليم والإعلام ومُعظم كتبه في هذين المجالين.
التحصيل العلمي
تلقى حجاوي تعليمه المدرسي في درس في المدارس الحكومية، وكما يذكر في سيرته الإعلامية حياتي في الإعلام فقد نال التعليم الحقيقي من مطالعاته. وفي عدة مقالات ذكر المدارس بشكل سلبي بوصفها لا تعلم الطالب، بل تعيقه عن التعلم. ونال شهادة البكالوريوس بضغط من الأهل، وبعد مجاهدة دامت نحو عشر سنين، تخللتها دراسة التاريخ لثلاث سنوات في ألمانيا لم تكلّل بالنجاح.
الحياة العملية
عمل في القسم العربي بهيئة الإذاعة البريطانية عشر سنوات، كان في الأربع الأخيرة منها مديراً للبرامج. في عام 1998، انتقل إلى العمل مديراً للتدريب الإذاعي في معهد الإعلام بجامعة بيرزيت ثم مديراً للمعهد، على مدى سبع سنوات. وعمل في قناة الجزيرة منذ مطلع عام 2006، فكان مديراً للبرامج ست سنوات، ثم مديراً للمعايير التحريرية بقطاع ضبط الجودة حتى عام 2017. وقد قضى في الشباب الباكر ثلاث سنوات في التعليم المدرسي، وعمل رئيساً للتحرير في صحيفة الحياة الجديدة الصحيفة الرسمية للسلطة الفلسطينية ستة أشهر في عام 2012، قبل العودة إلى شبكة الجزيرة.
