ينقسم الكتاب إلى خمسة فصول بعد المقدمة التي ذكر فيها المؤلف انتشار الأمراض التنفسية في العالم وخطرها وأسبابها، ووظيفة الرئة والتأثيرات الضارة عليها. خصص المؤلف الفصل الأول لموضوع ((آلية التنفس))، ووظيفة الرئة وعملها، وتحدث في الفصل الثاني عن ((مكامن الأمراض التنفسية)). في حين بحث في الفصل الثالث ما يخص ((الجراثيم، والجراثيم في كل مكان)). وفصل الحديث في الفصل الرابع عن ((الإعتلالات التنفسية ومعالجاتها الطبيعية))؛ فذكر عددا من الأمراض الرئوية، كالجمرة الخبيثة، وداء الفطر الشعاعي، والتلوث بالصوف الصخري، والربو، وجلطات الدم، والتهاب القصبات الهوائية، والتوسع القصبي، وسرطان الرئة، والزكام، وهبوط الرئة، وقصور القلب الإحتقاني، والسعال، والتليف الكيسي، وداء رئة العاملين في الهدم، وانتفاخ الرئة، وحمى القش، والناميات الأنفية، وذات الرئة، واستنشاق الدخان، والتهاب اللوزتين، والسل، والسعال الديكي، وغيرها.. وأنهى الكتاب في الفصل الخامس عن ((الحفاظ على الصحة))؛ فقدم فيه نصائح هامة، منها الرياضة الشاملة، تحسين وضعية الجسم واستقامته، التنفس العميق، التهوية المناسبة، تقوية غدتي الكظر، تجنب السمية الدوائية، الحفاظ على الهواء الصحي .. ثم ألحق بالكتاب حديثا عن الأغذية والإضافات الغذائية التي قد تتصرف بصفتها سموما تنفسية. ذيّل بفهرس عام.
