كتاب في الأدب ضمنه المؤلف ترجمة أبي فراس الحمداني وعرض لمذهبه الشعري ولديوانه المحقق، وتكلم فيه على العلاقة بين سيف الدولة وأبي فراس، وكذلك علاقة ابي فراس .بالصديق وعلاقة الشاعر بامه وغير ذلك من الوجدانيات التي ظهرت جلية بشعره.
وكانت هيكلة البحث كالتالي: المقدمة تضمنت الحديث عن الدوافع الفكرية والوجدانية لهذا البحث وموضوعه ومنهجه، مدخل عرف فيه المؤلف بالمفاهيم الأساس التي تقوم البحث عليها، الفصل الأول خُصص مباحثه الأربعة على التوالي، لترجمة موجزة للشاعر، فمذهبه الشعري الفني والأخلاقي، ولمحة موجزة عن ديوانه المحقق، الفصل الثاني، ويحمل عنوان "الشاعر بين الحرية والضرورة" تطرق إلى المفهوم الفكري للحرية، ومبحث ثان عرض فيه لشعر أبي فراس في حال الوجدان قبل أسره، بين الفصل الثالث تكلم في العلاقة التاريخية بين سيف الدولة والشاعر، الفصل الرابع، وحمل العنوان التالي: "العلاقة الوجدانية بين سيف الدولة والشاعر"، وقصر هذا الفصل على تحليل قصائد روميات كاملة، الفصل الخامس، وتحدث فيه المؤلف عن علاقة الشاعر بعشيرته، الفصل السادس، اشتمل على الحديث عن علاقة الشاعر بالأخ والصديق، الفصل السابع، وخصص لعلاقة الشاعر الحميمة بأمه في الروميات، الفصل الثامن، واشتمل على ما قاله الشاعر في الحنين إلى الوطن، وختم البحث بخلاصة بأهم النتائج.
