ما زال مصطلح العولمة، بمضموناته وأبعاده، يحتلّ حيّزاً واسعاً في الميادين الثقافية والتربوية والسياسيّة والإقتصادية، ومنذ ما يقرب من ثلاثة عقود، حيث بدأ الترويج لإحلال الصراع (الإختراق) الثقافي محلّ الصراع الأيديولوجي، ليطال البنية الإجتماعية من جوانبها الفكرية والتربوية، وذلك من خلال وسائل الإتصال والإعلام الحدية، وما تمتلكه من تأثيرات فاعلة على الثقافة الإجتماعية والبنى التربوية، لإنتاج ثقافة موجهة وفق قيم تربوية تؤدي إلى سلوكات (فردية وإجتماعية) معيّنة.
ولذلك يرى الكثير من المفكرين والباحثين، إن النتيجة النهائية لسيادة العولمة، فيما إذا نجحت بتأثيراتها السلبية، ستكون إستباحة عوالم الأفراد، ولا سيّما الأطفال والشباب، من خلال غزوهم ثقافياً وتربوياً (فكرياً وسلوكيّاً)، وتشكيل عواطفهم الإنسانية وإتجاهاتهم نحو الذات والكون والعالم والمستقبل، وفق نموذج معين يرسمه سدنة نظام العولمة، تحت مظلة ما يسمّى (النظام العالمي الجديد) الذي بدأ يتهاوى مع بداية القرن الحادي والعشرين.
وهذا يتطلب تفهم هذه الظاهرة بمعطياتها وأهدافها / الآنية والمستقبليّة، وبالتالي مواجهتها والتعامل معها بوعي وحذر ودراية، ولا سيّما في الأمور الثقافيّة والتربوية، لأنها الأكثر تأثيراً في عقول الناشئة وإستلابها وتخريبها، بحيث تكون المواجهة من خلال الربط الوثيق بين التربية والثقافة، بإعتبار أن التربية إجتماعية المنطلق والهدف، وأن الثقافة نتاج إجتماعي، حضاري، تراكمي، وبالتالي تكون الثقافة محتوى ومضمون، والتربية منهج وأداة، للحفاظ على طبيعة المجتمع وهويته الثقافية.
