المخرج السينمائي عباس كيار ستمي، الشاعر، المصور، الرسام والموسيقي أراد من خلال هذه الدراسة الخوض في تجربة الشاعر حافظ شيرازي الشعرية في جرأة لم يسبق لها مثيل بين كل الأعمال التي تناولت ديوان شاعر الفرس "حافظ" دراسة وشرحاً وتصحيحاً، متسلحاً كما يقول بمقولة "رامبو" الشهيرة (ينبغي أن نكون حداثيين بشكل مطلق).
وفي هذا العمل يقوم كيار ستمي بانتقاء أشطرٍ معينة من أشعار "حافظ" ويقطّعها بشكل يبعد الكلمات عن الإيقاع والموسيقى وعن ذاكرتها التي تملكها ... ، ليغير بذلك طريقة قراءتها، وتأملها بشكل مختلف ومن زوايا تمنح رؤية أكثر صفاءً وحكمة.
وبهذا يكون حافظ شيرازي برواية عباس كيار ستمي، كتاب يسعى إلى محو الهالة الأسطورية الضبابية عن حافظ وتقديمه على أنه كائن أرضي أولاً، في محاولة للكشف عن الحكم التي تزخر بها هذه الأشعار وتقطيعها بشكل يمنحها البريق الذي تستحقه والذي يرى كيا رستمي "أنها حُرمت منه ضمن الديوان الأصلي لـ "حافظ" بفعل الموسيقى والقافية.
