"حنين وأشياء أخرى" نصوص نثرية تتحدث فيها حنين منصور بن محيا بلسانها عن آلامها فبدت آلاماً صادقة واقعية قادرة على تحقيق الأثر في المتلقي.
في هذا العمل تستحضر الكاتبة "بدر" الذي استوطن قلبها، وروحها، وعقلها وذلك عندما تلقت خبر وفاته "عندما تلقيتُ خبر وفاتك لم أبكِ: اكتفيتُ بالصمت، ذهبت إلى فراشك! ونمتُ عليه... لم يكن نوماً كان جحيماً: استيقظت على أمل أن أجدك...".
النصوص هنا تتحدث عن الموت والرثاء والفقد، فالبكاء واضح على مستوى النصوص كلها، إذ أن السياق البنائي الذي قدمت فيه شخصية الفقيد بدء كان يوحي بذلك "خمسة أعوام وحنين لم تعد حنين لأنها بدونك"، "لا أعلم لم كُل ما أكتبهُ يتمحور حولك إ / فالأصل بدأتُ أكتُب منذ وفاتك، لأني فقدت صديقاً رائعاً... أو بالأحرى فقدت جُزءاً مني!...".
فالكتابة هنا كلها تحولت إلى إشارات وعلامات على الحدث، والنصوص تحدثت بكل شيء على الفقيد والموت، بصورٍ فيها الكثير من الإستقرار والهدوء في اللغة التي كشفت عن صورة الإطمئنان للقضاء والقدر وتقبل الفجيعة.
من هنا، يأتي دور الكاتبة في كيفية تعاطيها لهذا الحدث ولهذه التجربة التي جسدتها (كتابةً) للهرب من ألم الواقع؛ يضم الكتاب ثلاثة عشرة نصاً نثرياً جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: 1-لأجل بدر، 2-حلم، 3-إليهم، 4-إلى أمي، 5-إلى أبي، 6-إلى جدتي، 7-إلى ورقتي، 8-إلى متلازمة داون، 9-إلى هلال نجد، 10-إلى الكاسر، 11-إليك، 12-إلى وسادتي، 13-إلى معلمي محمد الموسى.
