وتطرقت الكاتبة بأسلوبها الخلاب –سيما وأنها سيدة حائزة على الدكتوراه في الفلسفة، ودكتوراه في الشريعة، ودكتوراه في الأدب إلى تصوير الحوادث المدهشة عن تطور حركة الإصلاح.
ويبحث هذا الكتاب عن فتنة البوسفور وانتحار السلطان عبد العزيز وحكم الجواسيس وعن المرأة التركية المسلمة وعن الأجانب في استانبول. كما يضم فصولاً ضافية عن سليمان الأول ومحمد الثاني ومحمود الثاني وعبد العزيز وعن كثيرين من رجالات الأتراك في ذاك العهد.
وجل الغاية من إعادة نشر هذا الكتاب في طبعة جديدة في هذه الفترة البعيدة عما حصل أيام السلاطين العثمانيين الخمسة هي إعادة تجديده كوثيقة من التاريخ التركي وتاريخ الشرق بصورة عامة.
