يحتوي هذا الكتاب على الدراسات والأبحاث التي قدمت في المؤتمر الذي دعا مركز الإمام الصدر للأبحاث والدراسات إلى عقده في 4 و5 تشرين الثاني عام 1997 تحت عنوان: "الأسرة: واقع ومرتجى". وقد شارك في المؤتمر عدد كبير من أصحاب السيادة والفضيلة ورؤساء الطوائف اللبنانيين، بالإضافة إلى عدد كبير من الباحثين والمهتمين بالشؤون التربوية والاجتماعية والعاملين في الساحة الثقافية العامة.
هذا وتوزعت أعمال المؤتمر على ستّ جلسات لمدة يومين متتاليين، قدمت فيها الكثير من الأبحاث والدراسات التي تعالج شأن الأسرة من نواحيها كافة. ساهم في عرضها حشد من الباحثين والمحققين في شؤون الأسرة في لبنان وإيران وأوروبا. وسلطت الأبحاث الأضواء على مفهوم واقع الأسرة ومرتجاها، وتناولت ماهية العائلة ودورها وقيمتها الأساسية في بناء الإنسان والمجتمعات والأوطان، كما وركزت الأبحاث على المخاطر الكبرى التي تهدد العائلة وعلى مهمة الأديان في عملية تكوين الأسرة التي تحقق للإنسان النمو المعافى باتجاه العبادة على أساس إعمار الأرض وإصلاحها.
وقائع لافتتاح مؤتمر "كلمة سواء" الثاني والمحاضرات التي ألقيت للمشاركين فيه من الخبراء في هذا المجال مع السيرة الذاتية لكل منهم. يتضمن بعض الصور للمؤتمر.
