تأتي أهمية هذا الكتاب من كونه محاولة لتلمس نهج الأئمة عليهم السلام في التفسير من خلال النصوص الواردة عن تلامذتهم مباشرة، خصوصا الإمام الصادق (رضي الله عنه) الذي نسب إليه تفسيراً صوفياً، وهو ما اعتبره مؤلف الكتاب "خرافة بل أسطورة". فإلى أي مدى نجح المؤلف في تفنيد ما نسب إلى الإمام الصادق هو ما سيدور حوله "خرافة التفسير الصوفي عند الإمام الصادق" الموضوع الذي اختاره المؤلف لعمله هذا.
