يهدف هذا الكتاب إلى بيان "دور الاستثمار الاجنبي المباشر في تمويل التنمية الاقتصادية، دراسة تطبيقية على دولة الامارات العربية المتحدة"، وعلى ضوء محتوى ومضمون موضوع الدراسة تم تقسيمها إلى بابين، وقد تناولت الباحثة في الباب الأول التعريف بالتنمية الاقتصادية والاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر، حيث خصصت الفصل الأول إلى التعريف بالتخلف والتنمية الاقتصادية ونظرياتها، وأفردت الفصل الثاني إلى التعريف بالاستثمار الاجنبي المباشر وأنواعه، وخصصت الفصل الثالث إلى مزايا وعيوب الاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر، ثم انتقلت الى الباب الثاني وتناولت فيه مقومات التنمية الاقتصادية في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة والتشريعات الاقتصادية المتعلقة بالاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر، وقد خصصت الفصل الأول إلى مقومات التنمية الاقتصادية في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، وأفردت الفصل الثاني إلى معوقات التنمية الاقتصادية في الدول النامية بشكل عام، ومعوقات التنمية الاقتصادية في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة بشكل خاص، ثم خصصت الفصل الثالث إلى القطاعات الاقتصادية في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، وأفردت الفصل الرابع إلى التشريعات الاقتصادية والسياسيات الاقتصادية الحاكمة للاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر، ثم خصصت الفصل الخامس إلى دور الاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر في تمويل التنمية الاقتصادية، وأفردت الفصل السادس إلى موقف منظمة التجارة العالمية W.O.T من الاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر والاتفاق المنظم له. وأن ما يميز الكتاب هو تأكيد الباحثة على مدى إمكانية الاستفادة من الاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر في تمويل التنمية الاقتصادية في الدول النامية بشكل عام، ودولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة بشكل خاص، وكذلك الوقوف على أهم القطاعات التي يتركز فيها على النحو الذي يمكن أن ينعش اقتصاديات الدول، مع توضيح أهم المعوقات التي تقف في طريقه، واستنادا إلى معطيات الدراسة ونتائجها قدمت الباحثة مجموعة من التوصيات لتفعيل دور الاستثمار الاجنبي المباشر في تمويل التنمية الاقتصادية بدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة.
