"انقلاب عسكري في إسرائيل" كتاب يتحدث ولأول مرة عن احتمالات انتقال عدوى الانقلابات العسكرية إلى إسرائيل، التي تعتبر نفسها جزءاً من العالم الغربي المحصن ضد الانقلابات، ولا تعتبر نفسها من العالم الثالث، وهذه التوقعات والحديث عن الانقلاب، يأتي وسط دراسات إسرائيلية تفيد بأن إسرائيل لن يصل عمرها إلى مائة عام، بسبب التمزق والانشقاقات الداخلية التي برزت في السنوات الأخيرة، إضافة إلى الفساد الذي طال القادة السياسيين وأجهزة الدولة المدنية منها والعسكرية.
الكتاب، مترجم عن كتاب "الشيفرة الزرقاء" الذي صدر في إسرائيل مؤخراً باللغة العبرية للصحفي الإسرائيلي "تسفيكة عميت"، الذي يعتمد في توقعه حول الانقلاب على ازدياد أعداد الضباط من اليمين المتطرف والأصوليين في الجيش الإسرائيلي، والذين وصل بعضهم إلى مواقع متقدمة منها هيئة الأركان العام حيث يقول عميت" "أن هذا زاد من احتمالات وقوع انقلاب عسكري، خاصة إذا ما قامت الحكومات الإسرائيلية ذات يوم من الأيام، باتخاذ قرار الانسحاب من الضفة الغربية، وإخلاء المستوطنات، على غرار الانسحاب الأحادي من قطاع غزة، وسيكون الانقلاب وفقاً لما ورد في الأصل العبري، لتعطيل وضع الانسحاب".
وقد أثار الحديث عن انقلاب عسكري في إسرائيل ردود فعل مختلفة داخل إسرائيل، لدرجة أن نائبة رئيس الكنيست "غيلا فنكلشتاين" طالبت الرقابة العسكرية الإسرائيلية والمستشار القضائي للحكومة، بمنع نشر وتوزيع الكتاب، تحت مزاعم أنه تحريضي، ويكشف معلومات سرية، ويساهم ويشجع على الانقلاب مما يدل على أهمية مضمونه.
دار الجليل وجدت في هذا الكتاب مادة دسمة عملت على ترجمته إلى العربية، كجزء من مشروعها في دراسة المجتمع الإسرائيلي، وما يحدث داخل هذا المجتمع، كما أن مؤلفه كتبه بصورة دراماتيكية شيقة تشد القارئ، لتسلسله من ساعة الصفر، إلى احتلال مبنى رئاسة الوزراء، ووزارة الجيش، والإذاعة والتلفزيون، وسيطرة الانقلابيين على جميع مناحي الحياة، وتشكيل حكومة عسكرية تقوم بإدارة البلاد.
