وقفت على كتاب موسوم بـ "مذكرات مستر همفر"، وهذا الإسم ليس بالغريب؛ فقد كنتُ أوَّل ما قرأت عنه في "مجلة منار الهدى" التي يصدرها المكتب الإعلامي في جمعيَّة المشاريع الخيريَّة الإسلاميَّة، العدد (28، رمضان 1415هـ- شباط 1995)، وهي مجلة تصدرها جماعة الأحباش (الهرريون)؛ حيث جاء في (ص 62): "وفي عام (1125هــ = 1713م) وقع في شراك الجاسوس الإنكليزي (همفر)، وأصبح ءالة لمساعي الإنكليز لمحو الإسلام.
ونشر عبد الوهَّاب ما أملى عليه الجاسوس من الأكاذيب بإسم (الوهَّابية)...". اهـ.
ولما قرأت هذا الكلام تطلَّعت نفسي للإطلاع على هذه "المذكِّرات"؛ حتى أنظر فيها، وأعرف مدى صدق ما نُسِبَ للإمام المجدِّد محمَّد بن عبد الوهَّاب رحمه الله في هذه "المذكِّرات".
