أضعُ كتابي هذا بين يدي القراء إلى جانب الباحثين والمعنيين والمهتمين بالفكر الصوفي في الإسلام، فما زال أعلام المتصوفة هؤلاء لهم موقعهم وموقفهم في البحث الصوفي إلى يومنا هذا، وما زال البحث المعرفي عنهم في منظومة الفكر الصوفي النسقية في الإسلام، بحثاً مفتوحاً بين النص الصوفي التراثي والقراءة المعاصرة له، فأثرت وما زالت في حضورها في تشكيل الوعي الصوفي في الإسلام المشدود إلى الموروث النصي من جانب، وإلى القراءة المعاصرة لهذا الموروث من جانب آخر.
وتقديمي هذا إنما هو تقديم لأعلام الفكر الصوفي وشخصياته المؤثرة فيه وإلى يومنا هذا، بما أسسوا من تجارب روحية تضمنت مضموناً سلوكياً وقيمياً ومنحَى ذاتياً وتجربة فردية، عمقت الفكر والسلوك والتجربة الصوفية وفي الخطاب والمدارج لم تنكشف إلاّ لسالكي الطريق وأهله من المريدين والمتصوفة أنفسهم مع بعضهم، مما أدى إلى نشر التراث الصوفي وتعميق ما أنجز المتصوفة في صميم الفكر الصوفي، الذي صار يُتداول من الدارسين والمريدين، وتتبُع ما أبدع هؤلاء المتصوفة من تجارب روحية صارت خطوات تُتبع فيما بعد، على مرّ العصور والأمكنة، ولما أشرت من ملامح تجربة صوفية، كُنهها معرفة (الله عزّ وجلّ) وحبه، أو معرفته وحبه إتساقاً مع المنحى الصوفي من أحبهُ عرفهُ ومن عرفهُ أحبهُ.
