أبو هاشم الزاهد، معروف الكرخي، بشر الحافي، منصور بن عمار، الحارث المحاسبي، سري السقطي، أبو سعيد الحراز، أبو الحسين التنوري، الجند الحسين بن منصور الحلاج، أبو بكر الشبلي، هؤلاء هم متصوفة بغداد الذي يدور الحديث حولهم في هذه الدراسة التي كانت لها نكهتها الخاصة المرتبطة بصاحب الدراسة الذي عاش مع هؤلاء تجربتهم المعرفية، ليعيش القارئ في رحاب وجد صوفي ارتبط اكثر ما ارتبط بالمكان الذي هو بغداد التي كانت علاقة هؤلاء بها قوية، فمثلت جانباً هاماً من جوانب هذه التجربة الوطنية، أبرزها المؤلف وذاب في جنباتها معهم حتى غدا واحداً منهم له مالهم من إشارات وشفرات تستوقف القارئ معانيها وكأنه بها حديث ذاته.
لربما قرأ المعنيون بالتصوف عن المتصوفة البغداديين كالحلاج ومعروف الكرخي وبشر الحافي وبن عمار والجنيد والشبلي والسري السقطي وغيرهم: لكن كتاب عزيز السيد جاسم فيهم هو ثمرة وَجْد صوفي، ووعي آخر بعلاقتهم بالمكان. إذ ثمة خيط يمسك بالمناقشة عند عناية المؤلف بالمتصوفة، يمتدُ في علاقتهم ببغداد، نشأتهم فيها وانشدادهم إليها، لتكون جزءاً من ذلك الوله وفعلاً في حركية الوجد والانشداد. أما الخيط الآخر فهو ما يخصّ المؤلف. فهو المفكر العراقي المعروف الذي خبَر المعرفة وغامر في منهجيات القراءة، فاجتهد وأضاف. وأصبحت عنده حرفة الكتابة قضية ترتبط بموقف المثقف. حتى إذا ما استمالها لوجد الصوفي كانت اشاراته وشفراته تستدعي التأويل، وتغيظ الظلمة: فكأن المرء وهو يقرأ له يسمعه وهو يرثي نفسه، في شدة ومحنة كتلك التي واجهها الحلاج.
هذا الكتاب هو الأخير في نتاجات المؤلف المفكر عزيز السيد جاسم، شاهده على الظلم وفاتحته نحو علاقة متجددة بأولئك المتصوفة الذين طواهم موت بدني يحيون بعده في النص الذي تتجاذبه الحياة، كلمات وشفرات، داعية للتأويل، نابضة باستمرار، تؤكد دائماً طوفان الوجد الذي لا يوقفه جور ولا يحد منه زمان.
