برز صموئيل بكت بين الكتّاب الأوروبيين في القرن الفائت، وحملت كتاباته أبعاداً في الفكر. هذه النصوص صعبة جداً. تطلّب تحويل النصّ من لغةٍ الى لغة سنوات في اشراف متخصصين في هذا الشأن. اطلع أنسي الحاج على ثلاثة كتب، ورحل قبل إنجاز الرابع. جلساتٌ طويلة أمضاها المعرِّب يتبادل وإياه النصائح والملاحظات.
وقد وجد المُعرِّب أنّ بعض الجُمل لا يعبّر عما أراد كاتبه إذا جرى نقله من الإنكليزية أو الفرنسية الى الفصحى. لذا كان لا بدّ من تجربة العامية. تضم هذه المجموعة أربعة كتب معرّبة عن بيكت: "مفاصل ترتعش" معرَّبٌ الى العامية، "إلى الأعسر سِر" معرَّبٌ الى الفصحى، أما "شرّ قول ونَظر" و"رفقة"، فمزيجٌ من عامية وفصحى. - جريدة النهار
