ماذا لو ان المهم في الحياة ليس العالم الفيزيائي الملموس الذي يمكننا قياسه، ولكن فقط الحياة الداخلية الذاتية للعقل؟ هذه الفكرة، هذه الاحتمالية تولد هاوية كبيرة قد تمر دون الانتباه اليها فحين تصبح اللوحة الفنية واقعية جدا، وحين لانعطي قيمة إلا للتفكير الصرف، وحين تصبح الاحلام اكثر اثارة من الحياة ذاتها، حينئذ نقف عند حافة تبدأ في عزلنا عن الاخرين. ونبدأ معها في خلق الواقع الذي نريده وتشكيله ربما اننا قد لاندرك ان هذا العالم الذي خلقناه بانفسنا لايمكن ان يخص اي شخص غيرنا. لعلنا لانعلم او نقدر مدى اقترابنا من الهاوية في هذا الاسلوب من التفكير. من الذي يستطيع ادراك طبيعة هذه المشكلة؟ هذا النوع من الجنون؟ من الذي بإمكانه مساعدتنا في هذه الورطة؟ ارجوك لا تذكر لي الطبيب النفسي، بل انظر في كل مكان و اوجد لي شاعر.لضفدع الناري رواية مدهشة لكل الأعمار.. إلى جوليا.. هذه الفتاة الصغيرة التى سيتبدل مفهومها لهذه القصة فى كل عقد من عقود حياتها.“ولأن للرواية مذاقها الخاص فقد صدرها مؤلفها بأكثر من تمهيد يلائم كل قارئ حسب سنوات عمره، فهناك تمهيد للصغار وآخر للمراهقين وثالث للكبار هي تهيئة للقراءة المنشودة وليست خلفية يصف من خلال المؤلف الشخصيات والحبكة القصصية والمكان وهكذ ا، وإنما الهدف منها تقديم أساس وركيزة للأفكار التي تربط عالمنا اليومي بالدراما والإثارة الفلسفية واكتشاف نظرة فريدة للحياة. من الممكن أن أعيش حراً على حافة المغامرة .أو ان اعيش آمناً مطمئناً لا أشعر أبداً بالخوف أو البرد .الإختيار في حد ذاته يجمدني ويشل حركتي.
