لقد كُتِب على الشعب الفلسطيني أن يصبر ويتحمل كلّ ألوان التنكيل، من قتل وإعتقال، وأن يتكبّد الآلام، خصوصاً في سنوات الإنتفاضة، سواء كانت إنتفاضة عام 1987م أو إنتفاضة الأقصى 2000م، ومنذ عام 1967م زُجَ بالآلاف من أبناء فلسطين في معتقلات الإحتلال، حيث أصبح الإعتقال ظاهرة بارزة في حياة الشعب الفلسطيني.
وقد طالت هذه الظاهرة كلّ قرية ومخيّم ومدينة، فآلاف العائلات على إمتداد البلاد وعرضها عانوا الليالي الطوال منتظرين خروج أبنائهم، وعانت معهم الأيام الصعاب القاسية التي عاشوها تحت القمع والقهر، وما زالوا يقفون على أبواب معتقلات الإحتلال الموزَعة على مختلف أرجاء فلسطين منتظرين رؤية أبنائهم لدقائق معدودة، كلّ هذا أفرز مشاكل نفسية وأدّى إلى حدوث العديد من الإضطرابات النفسية.
هذا وقد بلغ عدد الفلسطينيين الذين زُجّوا في السجون الإسرائيلية على خلفية مقاومتهم للإحتلال (535.000) فلسطيني، في الفترة ما بين العام 1967 حتى العام 1998، أي أن نحو (%20) من السكان الفلسطينيين قد تعرّض للأسر، ويقدّر حالياً عدد الأسرى الفلسطينيين الذين ما زالوا يقبعون في سجون الإحتلال بــ (11000) أسير، ممّا يعني أن ظاهرة الأسر في المجتمع الفلسطيني هي ظاهرة واسعة وتضم شريحة كبيرة من أفراد المجتمع الفلسطيني.
هذا الكتاب محاولة لكشف بعض المشكلات الإجتماعية والنفسية الخطيرة لزوجات الأسرى الفلسطينيين، مع طرح تصوّر علمي وموضوعي لبرنامج مقترح لمواجهتها من منظور العلاج الأسري في خدمة الفرد.
