Book Description
يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن السيرة الذاتية للأمير شكيبب أرسلان، هي لمحات من الماضي، وربما قراءات لها الحق بأن تبصر النور، ولو بعد حين فكان هذا الكتاب.
يقول الأمير في ترجمته لنفسه في هذا الكتاب: "... لقد تردت كثيراً قبل أن حررت هذه الترجمة، وقدمت رجلاً وأخرت أخرى في إثناء عزيمتي أن أصف نفسي بقلمي(...) وقد يقال إن شهادتي لنفسي لا تعتبر شرعاً ولا عرفاً، ولا تنفي عني السيئة، ولا تثبت الحسنة، ولا ينتظر من الإنسان إلاَ أن يزكي نفسه، وإلا أن يخفي عيبه، وأن يتنصل ممَا يرمى به. فأجاوب على ذلك بأن الحوادث التي أرويها في هذه الترجمة ليست ممَا لا يعرفه الناس، ولا هي من الأسرار الخفية، ولا مما أنا منفردبروايته حتى يكون قولي فيها هو المعول عليه والمغنى به، بل هي حوادث وأمور معروفة في بلادي وأكثرهما ممَا استغاض به العلم عند أهل البلاد، وإنما أنا أنقل منها تفاصيل وأروي دقائق يجوز أن لا تكون معروفة عند الكثيرين(...)".
