هذا الكتاب يمحّص دعوى "كونية" المناهج النقدية الغربية الحديثة التي روّج لها بعض نقادنا، ويكشف عن التحيّزات الفلسفية واللاهوتية لمناهج النقد العربي، كما يكشف عن تحيز النقد العربي المعاصر "الكليّ" و"التلفيقي" إلى النقد الغربي.
وقد انطلقت في هذا الكتاب من مسلمة تحيز المناهج النقدية الغربية، ومن تصورٍ للمنهج يعتبره منظومة شاملة متكاملة، وقد مكنني ذلك من الوقوف على حقيقتيْن:
الأولى: هي أن استيراد بعض النقاد العرب المعاصرين للمناهج النقدية الغربية، وتوظيفها في قراءة النصوص العربية دون مساءلة أو نقد، راجعان إما إلى إعتقادهم أن ما نقل إليهم من هذه المناهج إنما هو أدوات إجرائية محضة، أو إلى إيمانهم بإمكانية عزل هذه المناهج عن مضامينها الفلسفية والدينية.
فلما وظفوها، فُرِض عليهم الأخذ بخلفياتها وأسسها، وتبنيها عن وعي أو عن غير وعي، وهو ما يجعل هذه المناهج تفرض سلطتها على الناقد، فتصبح النصوص في خدمة المنهج لا العكس، كما تقضي بذلك الأعراف العلمية.
والثانية: هي أن الخروج من هذا المأزق لن يتم إلا بالكشف عن الجذور المعرفية، والخلفيات الفلسفية واللاهوتية لهذه المناهج، حتى إذا تنبه إليها الناقد، وكان على وعي بها وبإستحالة فصلها عن هذه الجذور والخلفيات، أمكنه الخلاص من سلطتها، وانفتحت أمامه آفاق الإبداع النقدي.
