الإبحار في بحر الشعر رحلة لا تضاهي روعة وجمالاً، فالعاشق للشعر يستعذب تلك الرحلات، حتى أنه ليدمنها إدماناً، لأنه لا تستيقظ روحه من إغفاءتها إلا على هدير أمواجه، أو أعناق حورياته، لذا تراه يطيل الإبحار، بل ويذهب فيه بعيداً، وربما غاص في أعماقه فالغوص في أعماقه لا يقل روعة وجمالاً عن الإبحار فيه، كيف لا والمبحر سيكون عندها بالقرب من لآلئه ومرجانه.
والشعر سواء كان قريضاً أو دارجاً، فلكل منهما عشاقه ومحبوه ورواده وناظموه، والبعض منا ربما يعشق الاثنين معاً. ولكن ما بين يديك أيها القارئ نوع من أنواع الشعر الدارج الذي يسمى بـ (الموال).
والموال كما أشار المؤلف في مقدمته، نظم في الدارج والقريض، ولكن ما يحتويه هذا الكتاب بين دفتيه هو الدارج منه، وخصوصاً الذي نظم في الإمام الحسين عليه السلام، لأن هذا الكتاب، هو أحد أجزاء دائرة المعارف الحسينية العملاقة التي ذاع صيتها في الآفاق باتت أشهر من نار على علم.
إذن هذا الجزء الذي يحتضن شعراً دارجاً من نوع الموال، يبدأ بقافية الهمزة وينتهي بقافية الياء ويسبق بمقدمة وافية تناول المؤلف فيها كل جوانب هذا الشعر فبحث في تاريخ نشأته وكيفيتها، وأسباب تسميته، وأنواعه، وأوزانه، ومميزاته... وغير ذلك ويختم الكتاب بخاتمة تحدث فيها المؤلف عن جوانب ثلاث، هي: في مجمل ما احتواه هذا الديوان، وفي تقييم ما نظم في الإمام الحسين عليه السلام، وفي المقارنة بينهما وبين ما نظم في غير الإمام الحسين عليه السلام، والحق الكتاب بفهارس عامة تفوق الثلاثين فهرساً.
