ففاتن حمامة أفسحت للمؤلف الوقت الذي يريده ويحدده في بيتها في عمارة ليبون في الزمالك... أما عمر الشريف فقد ظفر به لحظات خاطفة في باريس حيث استقر بعد أن لمع بين نجوم العالم.
فاتن وعمر كأي فنان أصيل يستلهمان من مسؤوليتهما إزاء نفسهما وإزاء الجمهور كفنانين معروفين، يستلهمان أسلحة جديدة للمشوار، سواء قدر لهما أنه يواصل كل واحد منهما المسيرة وحده أو كتب لهما التلاقي مرة أخرى. وعلى أي حال لم يشأ المؤلف أن يفرق بينهما في مذكراتهما، حيث اعتاد قلمه أن يلتقي بهما هما الاثنان معاً دائماً.
