تطوير مناهج التّربية في بلادنا يجب أن يُبنى على أساس ثقافية: معرفيّة، ونفسيّة واجتماعية، ولُغويّة، وأن تكون هذه الأسس عربيّة إسلامية.
و التربية المنشودة من خلال تطوير مناهج التّربية في عالمنا العربيّ، هي "عمليّة إنسانية"، وهي "علم" و"فنّ" و"زراعة" لا "صناعة". والمؤسسات التي تعمل بها، تعمل في بناء البشر، و"زراعة الإنسانية"، لا في صناعة الأشياء. والخرّيج ليس "سلعة"، وإنما هو "إنسان"يجب ان تتحقّق فيه كل الصّفات الإنسانيّة. ومؤسّسات التّعليم هي مؤسّسات اجتماعيّة. وهذا يعني أنها لا تقوم على أسس اقتصاديّة وحسب بل تقوم بالدرجة الأولى على أُسُس ثقافية واجتماعية، لا بدّ منها لبناء الإنسانيّة... على هذا الأساس جاء هذا الكتاب لتطوير مناهج التّربية.
و قد جاء هذا الكتاب ضمن سلسلة أساسيات التي تأتي استجابة حضاريّة لمتطلبات العصر ذي الإيقاع السّريع، وتلبية صادقة لاحتياجات طلّاب الجامعات، وتلاميذ المدارس، والمثقفين والمتخصصين، والكتّاب... ممن يحتاجون إلى الإلمام بأساسيّات المعرفةفي موضوع بعينه، دونما إغراق في التّعمّق، أو سطحيّة في التناول.
