وُلد مورو مولود مارتينو في كالابريا في جنوب إيطاليا في التاسع والعشرين من آذار عام ألف وتسعمائة وثلاثة وخمسين، انتقلت عائلته بعد عام من ولادته إلى تورتنو كندا، عمل معلماً للّغة الإنجليزية لخمسة وعشرين عاماً؛ انتقل للعيش في اسطنبول في 2004.
كتب عدة روايات ومنها هذه الرواية (الرجوع) باللغة الإنجليزية وقد تُرجمت رواياته إلى اللغة التركية ولاقت نجاحاً كبيراً.
وقد عُرف كممثل في فيلم وادي الذئاب العراق والمسلسل الشهير وادي الذئاب الذي دُبلج إلى عدة لغات ومنها اللغة العربية.
وتنطوي هذه الرواية على مبادئ الإسلام والصوفية من خلال حياة الكاتب الذي كان قد تحول إلى الإسلام في سنة ألف وتسعمائة وخمسةً وثمانين.
