نعمة الله بن محمد بن عبد الله الموسوي الجزائري (1050 هـ / 1640 - 1112 هـ / 1701). رجل دين وفقيه ومُحدّث ومُفسّر شيعي. وقد كان أحد كبار رجال الدين الشيعة الإثني عشرية في العراق وإيران في زمان الدولة الصفوية التي تقلّد فيها بعض المناصب القضائية، وقد وُثِقّ الجزائري عند كبار الرجاليين الشيعة كأستاذه المجلسي(2) والحر العاملي(3) ويوسف البحراني.
وُلد سنة 1050 هـ في قرية الصباغية، وهي إحدى قرى قضاء الجزائر والذي يسمى حالياً بقضاء الجبايش، والذي يقع حسب الجغرافيا الحديثة في محافظة ذي قار بجنوب العراق.

يعد كتاب (أحوال الإمام المنتظر) للمحدث الجزائري، واحد من موسوعة تاريخية كبيرة تركها السيد نعمة الله بن محمد الحسيني الجزائري المولود سنة 1050 هجرية والمتوفي سنة 1112 هجرية. وهو كتاب خصه بالإمام المهدي، وقد خطه بقلمه المبارك سنة 1110 هجرية.
ونظرا لأهمية هذا المخطوط عمد فضيلة الشيخ مهدي محمد الفتلاوي إلى التحقيق فيه بالإعتماد على نسخة خطية وجدت في مكتبة ملي بإيران رقم (281)، وفيها يقع الجزء الثالث الخاص بالإمام المنتظر في (131) صفحة.
توزعت الأحاديث الخاصة بالإمام المنتظر في هذا الكتاب على تسعة فصول: جاء الفصل الأول: في ولادته، وأحوال أمه، وأسماءه، وألقابه والنهي عن تسميته، وبيان صفاته .. أما الفصل الثاني: فيما ورد من أخبار الله (عز وجل) ورسوله والأئمة عنه. وكان الفصل الثالث: في دلائل شيخ الطائفة طاب ثراه على الغيبة وفي غيبات الأنبياء وأعمار المعمرين والإستدلال بها على غيبته. وأما الفصل الرابع فيتحدث عن معجزاته. ثم الفصل الخامس: في علة غيبته، وفي الفصل السادس: علامات خروجه وفيما يحدث يوم خروجه وفي مدة ملكه وما يلحق ذلك، ويسرد الفصل السابع: فيما يكون عند ظهوره؟، والفصل الثامن: في الرجعة وكيفيتها، وأما الفصل التاسع والأخير: في خلفاء المهدي وما يكون بعده وفيما خرج منه من التوقيعات أي الأحاديث ...
