إنّ موضوع الفروق النحوية في اللغة العربية من الموضوعات المهمة التي تشغل بال الكثيرين من الدارسين من المتخصصين بدراسة النحو، أو بغيره من فروع اللغة العربية، وتأتي هذه الأهمية من الفروق في الوظائف التي تؤديها الكلمات من خلال الجمل والتعبيرات، مما يحتّم على التخصص - إذا أراد أن يكون ما يكتبه أو يقوله صحيحاً ودقيقاً - أن يحيط بالإستعمالات الصحيحة للمفردات، وذلك من خلال معرفة الفروق فيما بينها.
تم تقسيم مادّة البحث على أربعة فصول: الفصل الأول: الفروق في الأسماء: وضم سبعة مباحث: تناول المبحث الاول: دراسة الفروق بين المرفوعات، والثاني: الفروق بين المنصوبات، والثالث: الفروق بين المجرورات، والرابع: الفروق بين التوابع، والخامس: الفروق بين التنكير والتعريف، والسادس: الفروق بين الإعرابات والبناء، والسابع: الفروق بين العوامل من الأسماء.
أما الفصل الثاني: الفروق في الأفعال: وقد ضمّ أربعة مباحث، خُصص المبحث الاول لدراسة الفروق بين الأفعال التامة، والثاني: للفروق بين الأفعال الناقصة، والثالث: للفروق بين الأفعال التامة والناقصة، والرابع: للفروق بين الأفعال المعربة والمبنية.
الفصل الثالث: الفروق في الحروف: وضمّ ثلاثة مباحث: المبحث الأول: تناول دراسة الفروق بين الحروف العاملة، والثاني: الفروق بين الحروف غير العاملة، والثالث: الفروق بين الحروف العاملة وغير العاملة، الفصل الرابع: الفروق بين أقسام الكلام العربي الثلاثة، وضمّ ثلاثة مباحث: خُصص المبحث الأول لدراسة الفروق بين الأسماء والأفعال، والثاني: للفروق بين الأسماء والحروف، والثالث: للفروق بين الأفعال والحروف.
