في دراسته هذه يقرأ الدكتور "عبد الأمير ز. شمس الدين" الفكر التربوي عند "عبد الكريم محمد السمعاني" في كتابه: أدب الاملاء والاستملاء.
يعد محمد بن عبد الكريم السمعاني (ت 562/ 1167) صاحب نظرية خاصة به في التربية، فالدارس له لا يستطيع إغفال مكانته في التراث التربوي. وكتابه "ادب الإملاء والاستملاء" هو، من جهة تقميش وتبويب للنظام التربوي السائد في عصره. ومن جهة أخرى، آداب للعالم والمتعلم: إنه قواعد السلوك المثل، اللياقات، والتنظيمات المحددة، لعمل كل منهما. وبعبارة أوضح فإن الكتاب "يتناول واجبات العالم، وواجبات المتعلم، وما يحتاج إليه هذا وذاك، من التخلف بالأخلاق السنيَة، والاقتداء بالسنن النبوية"
والمؤلف في هذا الكتاب يأخذ كتاب "ادب الإملاء والاستملاء" في موسوعته التربوية الإسلامية، كعينة أخرى تمثل النظم التعليمية والمنهجية التربوية من وجهة نظر الفقهاء وإن كانت، عند السمعاني أيضاً، منصبة على طالب العلم الديني (الحديث) وعلى مدرس الحديث (المحدَث)، فإنها قواعد قابلة للتعميم، وما قاله الفقهاء المسلمون، والسمعاني منهم، ينطبق على المدرَس، وعلى الطالب عموماً وفي كل مكان وزمان ومن هنا تاتي أهمية هذا الكتاب في عصرنا الحاضر...
