يهدف هذا الكتاب إلى توفير فرص ومواقف تعليمية على الصعيدين النظري والتطبيقي في إتقان أداء أنماط من الكفايات والمهارات اللازمة في إعداد الاختبارات التحصيلية لمرحلتي التعليم الابتدائية والإعدادية، بشكل يخدم الطلبة/المعلمين في مؤسسات الإعداد والمعلم في مدرسته، إذ يعتبر التأهيل التربوي أثناء الخدمة استمراراً طبيعياً للإعداد المهني في مؤسسات الإعداد قبل الخدمة والأستاذ في جامعته داعماًُ أساليب التعلم الجامعي في إرساء قاعدة تطبيق المعرفة النظرية عملياً في السلوك التدريسي بهدف اكتساب الطلبة/المعلمين الكفايات والمهارات التدريسية، وتقديم الخبرات التي تساعدهم على تنمية الجانب المهني والمعرفي في شخصية معلمي المستقبل، ومن الممكن أن يقتصر دور أستاذ الجامعة عند الأخذ بالوحدة التعليمية المصغرة في هذا الكتاب على التوجيه والإرشاد فقط فيما يتعلق بالجانب التطبيقي ويستطيع التصرف في مستوى التركيز على موضوعات الوحدة، وتنويع وتدعيم الأمثلة التوضيحية والأسئلة الخاصة بتقويم أداء الكفاية، والمراجع والقراءات الإضافية بما يتناسب مع طبيعة المستوى التعليمي والمادة أو المساق المعني.
ولأجل إفادة القارئ بهذا الكتاب الفائدة المطلوبة فقد خصص الفصل الأول لإلقاء بعض الضوء على بعض الاتجاهات الحديثة في إعداد المعلم وتأهيله، وقد خصص الفصل الثاني لاستراتيجيات التعليم والتدريب في إعداد المعلم، ومنها استراتيجية تفريد التعليم والتدريب للتعرف على طرائقها ومبادئها في الأعداء. أما في الفصل الثالث فقد خصص للوحدات التعليمية المصغرة للوقوف على مفهومها وكيفية إعدادها، وفي الفصل الرابع من الكتاب عرضت المؤلفة البرنامج التدريبي وفق الوحدة التعليمية المصغرة التي عملت عمل المنظم لعملية التدريب.
