تستخدم رواية "الصوت" البناء الموسيقي في تشكيل حركاتها، سيمفونية تتصاعد تدريجيا بتصاعد الأحداث وحدّة الصوت الموسيقي القادم من المجهول. ذلك الصوت الغريب الذي ينتشل البشر الموعودين بالسعادة على ما يبدو للوصول الى الحلم أو الوهم. ذلك الصوت قادر على أن ينتشل القارئ معه الى حدوده الغرائبية، ليعيش معه ومع تفاصيل رحلة صعبة الى العمق، عمق النفس. ثمة من يبقى هناك وثمة من يبرح المكان. لكن المؤكد أن هزة عنيفة ستخلفها نهاية الرواية لدى القارئ، وأسئلة من الصعب الإجابة عنها بصراحة.
تضيء الرواية لهاث النفوس المحطمة للوصول الى تحقيق تلك الأمنية التي تعيش في داخل كل منا، لكنها تكشف كذلك تشظيها بين أن تتمنى وأن تعيش الأمنية. ذلك التشظي التي تزداد حدته مع ازدياد المعرفة. رواية تمزج بين الشعر والنثر، الموسيقى الناعمة مع الصخب، الفرح مع القلق، السعادة مع الألم، الوصول مع التيه.
