تستكشف هذه الدراسة استجابة الشعراء في العصر العباسي، إلى المعارف المتصلة بالقبة الزرقاء في الفلك والتنجيم، وانعكاسهما في الصور الشعرية. كان العرب في الجاهلية، أفراداً أو شعراء، يعرفون القبة الرزقاء بنجومها وأسماء كواكبها، كما كانوا يستعينون بمواقعها الفضائية في أسفارهم الليلية. وقد تغنّوا بصفاتها وأساطيرها في أشعارهم. وازدادت معرفة العربي بكنوز القبة الزرقاء ومعارفها العلمية والخرافية تبعاً لحركة الترجمة في زمن الأمويين والعباسيين. وانتشرت هذه المعارف بين الخاصة والعامة في العصر العباسي انتشاراً واسعاً. ولئن انعكست الحياة الحضارية المختلفة في التصوير الشعري، كالاستجابة إلى الطبيعة، والحياة العاطفية، والفكر الفلسفي، ووصف المنشآت المعمارية، والتصوف، وحياة اللهو الجديد، فكذلك انعكست المعارف الفلكية والتنجيمية في الشعر العباسي. وكان انتشار المعرفة الفلكية والتنجيمية في سائر الأوساط الاجتماعية انتشارا ملحوظاً، فإن السؤال عن مدى استجابة الشعر بالتوثيق والتصوير الشعري للكشوفات والمعارف الفلكية يغدو سؤالاً مشروعاً. ومن هنا جاءت هذه الدراسة. وتنطلق هذه الدراسة ذات المنهجين العددي والتحليلي من الفرضية القائلة بأن الأديب في تكوينه هو نتاج عصره، وهو مرآة تعكس الحياة بوجوهها المختلفة. ولما كان العصر العباسي الممتد قد شهد تطورات عميقة الغور وشيوع معارف جديدة، فلا بدّ أن يفيض من نتاجه الإبداعي صدى هذه المعارف والتطورات. كما تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى توثيق الإحصاءات العددية لاستخدام أعلام الشعراء العباسيين مفردات المعرفة الفلكية وأسماء الأجرام السماوية في شعرهم، من جهة، وإلى تحليل الصور الشعرية التي لوّنوها باستخدام هذه المفردات والأسماء من جهة أخرى.
