يضيء جوانب من كتابة النص أو التعليق على النصوص و إبداء الرأي و الموقف من الشعر و الوجود و مجتمع القصيدة العربية الحديثة و ملامسات و مقاربات تقف عوناً للناقد و الدارس و القارئ و المتذوق على التمكن من تناول ما قدم من جهد في أقصى الممكن. و يستعرض الكتاب مجموعة من النصوص من خلال أبوابه المتعددة ففي بابه الأول نصوص في أجناس يستعرض النصوص التالية: لا قبر للشهداء, حشيش التنابل, حوار في شوارع الصالحية, هاجس, الذبابة و جلد الثور. و في بابه الثاني انطباعات نقدية يستعرض مجموعة كبيرة من النصوص منها: رحلة في ضمير مونادا دمشق, شيئاً من العدالة, ما تحت الواقع, من المسؤول, أحوال الحداثة, نقاط و فواصل. و في بابه الثالث حوارات يتناول مختارات من مجموعة لقاءات منذ عام 1975 لغاية 2001 و من الاسماء التي حاورت في تلك المختارات: نزار سلوم, أكرم شريم, طالب عمران, غسان الشامي, أحمد فرحات, سامر جلعوط, عبد الكريم عبد الرحيم, سمير السعيدي, زيد قطريب, أمينة عباس.
