في أحيان كثيرة كان يختلط صوت الرب بصوت الشيطان .و حين يصيبني الأرق لعدم تمييز الصوتين ,كنت أقصيهما للاستماع لصوت ثالث و طاغ عليهما هو صوتي أنا .كلا الصوتان كانا يعدانني بالخلاص .رغم أنني كنت أعرف صوت الرب الرخيم العذب ,إلا أن الشيطان كان يستطيع أن يربكني بنداء آخر رقيق و حنون فتتصارع في صحرائي تلك النسائم العليلة حين تتحول إلى عواصف لا جهة لها. تعاويذ هي رواية إنسان متفرد بوساوسه ,عاد الى الحياة مرة أخرى و قد انتهت حياته السابقة بالقتل .إنسان يبحث عن الحب و الحقيقة و الموت الجميل . و هو يعيش صراعاً عظيماً ليجد الجمال الذي تلاشى من عيون الجميع .و تكون أحلام هي الفتاة التي أحبها و أحبته . و لكن كلماتها التي خرجت من بين حشرجتها و أنينها الحزين ,قد ألقت فيه كل رعب العالم ,والتي كانت تقول: الحب ابن غير شرعي إذا ولد في زمن عفن .
