تسعى هذه الوقفات النقدية مع شعر الدكتور صالح بن سليمان الوشمي إلى إستكناه الأبعاد الدلالية والفنية من خلال نصوص شعرية محددة، وفي ضوئها تحاول إبراز المقومات المضمونية والشكلية التي ظهرت في زمن الشاعر، وبذلك يمكن أن نصل إلى تصور عن بعض سمات الشعر السعودي في تلك الفترة.
لكن هذه الدراسة تشترط - أيضاً - بُعداً مهماً وهو أنّ الخلوص إلى تقانات دلالية أو فنية محددة لا يعني - بالضرورة - تعميمها على سائر شعراء تلك الفترة التي يندرج فيها الشاعر، والبيئة التي نشأ فيها.
