تختار الكاتبة عزيزة عبد الله الطائي دراسة نموذج مشرق للأدب العربي المعاصر في الخليج العربي، وهو الشاعر (صقر بن سلطان القاسمي) أحد أبرز الشعراء في منطقة الخليج العربي في الخمسينيات إلى أوائل التسعينيات من القرن العشرين، الذي عُرف بشعره قبل أن يُعرف بإماراته، هو شاعر لم تشغله الإمارة عن صقل موهبته، فكان حلمه بوحدة وطنه العربي أعظم من الإنسياق إلى أهداف المستعمرين ومآربهم في إمارته. ولمعرفة المزيد عن فضاءات شعر صقر بن سلطان وخصائصه الفنية وضعت المؤلفة دراستها في ثلاثة فصول خُصص الفصل الأول لحياته وثقافته وآرائه ومبادئه وسلوكه وعلاقته بمعاصريه من الأدباء والشعراء، مثل شعراء الغزل وشعراء المتصوفة والمدرسة الرومانسية وشعراء المهجر في العصر الحديث...
أما الفصل الثاني فقد حمل عنوان المضامين الشعرية، وتناولت فيه المؤلفة أبرز الرؤى الشعرية التي تطرق لها شعر القاسمي في فضاءاته المختلفة، وذلك بالوقوف عند أبرز المضامين التي سارت عليها موضوعات الشاعر إنطلاقاً من همومه الوطنية إلى رؤاه القومية. بالإضافة إلى (تجليات المرأة في شعره) و (الطبيعة).
وأما الفصل الثالث والأخير فقد حمل عنوان: الدراسة الفنية، وتناولت فيه المؤلفة شعره بالتركيز على صوره الشعرية، والظواهر الأسلوبية، وموسيقى الشعر وأوزانه وقوافيه وذلك بالقيام بدراسة شكل القصيدة عند القاسمي وتطور البناء الشعري عنده باستخدام الأشكال الشعرية من مزدوج، وثلاثي، ومربع، ومخمس، حتى الشكل السباعي، وبداية الشعر المرسل وشعر التفعيلة عنده.
