تحاول هذه الرواية ذات وجهات النظر المتعددة والمتداخلة تعرية الخطاب السياسي العربي الذي يدأب على تزييف الوعي والثقافة بتكريسه للمخلصين المزيفين أو الأنبياء الادعياء من خلال بالونات ثقافية ضبابية، فمعظم الأقطار العربية تبتلى بأنبياء ملهمين يكرسهم الأعلام المنقاد. ويقول الكاتب بأن أحد أبرز أسئلة هذه الرواية الحائرة الرؤية: من المخلص لهذه الأمة سياسياً وفكرياً ووجودياً؟ هل هو إسلامي أم قومي أم إنساني أم تغريبي، كما هو يظهر في شخصيات الرواية: علي وعدنان وعلاء وعصمت؟ أم أن الخلاص في البعد الخامس الذي يمثل قلب الرواية من خلال مريم التي تجمع الأربعة؟! أم أنه لا مناص من إعادة نفس الأسئلة لقرنين متتابعين مزقت فيهما الأمة العربية التوابع والزوابع؟ وسلكت الكلمة مسالك النفس لتتشكل النفس النفساء بها؟
