كنت قد أزمعت على الكتابة في هذا الموضوع، بعد تخرجي من جامعة فؤاد الأول في القاهرة منذ أكثر من خمسين سنة، وذلك بسبب ما كان يردده الأستاذ الدكتور بطرس غالي الذي أصبح فيما بعد أميناً عاماً للأمم المتحدة، حيث كان يقول لنا في كلية التجارة في الجامعة المذكورة: في الشام يوجد قبائل عربية، وإنما هم بقايا أمم سالفة.

ومن أجل أن أكتب في هذا الموضوع حققت كتتاب "الجمهرة في النسب" لابن الكلبي، وكتاب "نسب معد واليمن الكبير" لابن الكلبي أيضاً، وكتاب "مختصر الجمهرة"، وكتاب البلاذري "أنساب الأشراف".

وبعد كل هذا العمل المضني بدأت بتنفيذ ما كنت قد أزمعت عليه سابقاً.
