العقائد، الأخلاق، الأيديولوجيات، الشمولية، الديمقراطية، المثالية، المادية، العلمانية، التقنية، التقاليد، الأعراف، المعتقدات... كلها مفاهيم تنتمي إلى حقل الثقافة، وكلها تشكّل سجوناً للعقل حين يعتبر أن أياً منها، أو بعضها، يمثِّل قناعاته وإعتقاداته، وسبيله إلى إمتلاك ناصية الحقيقة.
وإن كانت المجتمعات الإنسانية كلها عانت أو تعاني من سجون الثقافة، فإن الثقافة العربية الإسلامية لها خصوصيتها في هذه المعاناة، في سياق ثقافي عربي إسلامي له خصائصه، وتكوينه، وتاريخه، وظروف نموّه وإنفعاله وتفاعله.
لقد اشتملت مقاربات هذا الكتاب على موضوعات تحكي الإرتهان للقوة الإجتماعية وللتقاليد والأعراف الإجتماعية، وللرغبة والمصلحة، وما تنطوي عليه الذاكرة الجمعية من ومزيات وخيالات وصور ولاوعي، وإرتهان للثنائيات المتقابلة والمتضادة.
فالذات والآخر، والإسلام والغرب، والعرب والعجم، والسنّة والشيعة، والإعتدال والتطرف، والقبيلة والدولة، والجماعة والفرد، والرجل والمرأة، والأصيل والدخيل، والعقل والجسد، والدين والدنيا، والثقافة والطبيعة... إلخ... كلها ثنائيات ترتّب، بمنطق تقابلها وتعارضها والإستقطاب الكامن فيها، ثقافة أحادية لا ترب بالإختلاف ولا تتسع بالتعدّد...
وإذا كان هذا الكتاب ممارسة نقديّة للثقافة، فهو يعمل على تفكيك ما ترتبه تلك الثنائيات على الثقافة، ليس بإستبدال أحد طرفيها بالآخر، أو عكس التراتب، بل ببيان وجوه الإختلاف والتضاد داخل كل طرف، ومع الأطراف المتغايرة، مبيّناً كيف أن هذا النوع من الممارسات لا ينفتح على حريّة التفكير المبدع، بل يحوّل كل هذه المفاهيم والثنائيات إلى سجون وينتج سلطات ليست أقل تعسّفاً وإنغلاقاً...
