وقد بذل الكاتب اهتماماً كبيراً لرؤية ما يمثله كل واحد من هذه الأدلة، وهل توحي كلها باستنتاج واحد.
إننا لا نعلم كل شيء عن المايسينيين، بل إن المؤرخون أنفسهم يختلفون في تفسير الشواهد المتيسرة عنهم، وما نقدمه هنا إنما هو صورة واحدة من الصور التي تظهر فيها حضارتهم.
