تبني الشاعرة أسماء العوضي عمارتها الشعرية في "رسم ألوان الفراغ" وفق نمط بنائي جديد يمكن وصفه بالبناء المتعاقب أو المتناوب الذي يعني أن النصوص تقدم تجربة معنية ثم تنتقل إلى تجربة جديدة أخرى، ثم تعود إلى التجربة الأولى وهكذا، ويكون على القارىء فك شفرات هذا التعاقب أو التناوب في البناء.
هذا الشكل نجده في قصيدة "غربتي حين ترحل" التي يضعنا عنوانها إزاء تجربة الذات / الشاعرة بين الماضي والحاضر" ... تواجه النافذة المغلقة / وهي الأقرب من كل وقت / غربتي حين ترحل / أجهل ألوان الورد / وأجهل قبضة المنجل / تغيب / وأنت في حلمي حاضر / وأروع الحاضرين (...)". وبهذا المعنى نكون أمام تجربة وجدانية متكاملة رسمتها الشاعرة بألوانها الخاصة بين المرأة والرجل تحت إطار عام لا يخرج عن النفس الوجداني الخاص لهذه العلاقة.
