في هذه الدراسة تحدث المؤلف عما عثر عليه من ألفاظ التضاد في العبرية وفي السريانية، وعن الألفاظ التي تدل على معنى خاص في العربية وتدل أشباهها على ضده في العبرية أو في السريانية، وعن الألفاظ التي تدل على المعنى وعلى ضده في العربية، وتدل نظائرها على أحد المعنيين في العبرية أو في السريانية.
وقبل الشروع في الدراسة المقارنة لألفاظ التضاد وجد المؤلف أنه لمن المناسب أن يفرد بحثاً خاصاً للمقارنة اللفظية في اللغات السامية تعتمد على ظاهرة الإبدال أكثر من غيرها فقد أورد أحرف الأبجدية العبرية، وما قد يقابل كل حرف عبري من أحرف الأبجدية العربية، في المقارنة بين لفظ عبري ونظيره العربي، معززاً بالأمثلة.
