سَطّراً سَطّراً أنثركَ أمامي بكفاءةٍ لم أُوتَها إلا في المطالع...
وكما أوصيتَني، أقِفُ الآن بإسمكَ كي أشكر مُشَيِّعيكَ إلى هذا السفر الأخير، وأدعوهم إلى إختصار الوداع، والإنصراف إلى عشاءٍ إحتفالي يليق بذكراك...
فلتأذن لي بأن أراكَ، وقد خرجت مني وخرجتُ منك، سالماً كالنثر المُصفى على حجرٍ يخضر أو يصفر في غيابك، ولتأذن لي بأن ألمك واسمكَ، كما يلم السابلة ما نسي قاطفو الزيتون من حبّات خبّاها الحصى، ولنذهبن معاً أنا وأنت في مسارين: أنتَ، إلى حياةٍ ثانية، وَعَدَتْكَ بها اللغة، في قارئ قد ينجو من سقوط نَيْزَكٍ على الأرض.
وأنا، إلى موعدٍ أرجأتْه أكثر من مرَّة، مع موتٍ وَعَدْتُهُ بكأس نبيذ أحمرَ في إحدى القصائد، فليس على الشاعر من حَرَجٍ إن كذب، وهو لا يكذب إلا في الحب، لأن أقاليم القلب مفتوحة للغزو الفاتن.
أما الموت، فلا شيء يُهينُهُ كالغدر: إختصاصه المُجَرْب، فلا ذهبْ إلى موعدي، فور عثوري على قبرٍ لا ينازعني عليه أحدٌ من غير أسلافي بشاهدةٍ من رخام لا يعنيني إن سقط عنها حرف من حروف اسمي، كما سقط حرف الياء من اسم جدي سهواً.
