يتمحور موضوع الكتاب حول قانون حماية المستهلك في لبنان وهو القانون رقم (2005/ 659)، والذي يعد أول قانون من شأنه حماية المستهلك في لبنان. وفي هذا المجال تتساءل مؤلفة الكتاب هل حقق هذا القانون غايته في الحماية الجزائية للمستهلك عن طريق السبل والحلول الجديدة التي أوجدها؟ وما هي الشروط الأفضل لتأمين حماية جزائية فاعلة وإمكانية تطبيقها؟
وبعد استعراض المؤلفة أهم الحلول والسبل الجزائية التي استحدثها قانون حماية المستهلك اللبناني الآنف الذكر، والذي يهدف بالأساس إلى مواجهة كل ما يمكن أن يهدد صحة وسلامة ومصلحة المستهلك الاقتصادية، رأى: أن مشرع قانون حماية المستهلك أمَن الحماية الجزائية للمستهلك منهجاً أسلوبين. قضى الأول بإيجاد سبل وحلول حديثة، أدت إلى إنشاء جرائم جديدة لم يكن الشارع اللبناني قد تعامل معها في السابق.في حين أن الثاني تمثل بتحديث سبل وحلول وجدت قبل سن قانون حماية المستهلك بما يجعلها تواكب التطورات اللاحقة بالحياة الاستهلاكية.
وللإحاطة بموضوع الكتاب أكثر وزعت المؤلفة دراستها على قسمين: الحماية الجزائية للمستهلك بين الإستحداث والتحديث (القسم الأول). وخصوصية الحماية الجزائية للمستهلك (القسم الثاني).
