العقيدة أسُّ العمل، فالإنسان إنما يعتقد أولاً ثم يبادر إلى العمل، وإذا ما تضغضع البناء العقائدي في المجتمع تشوهت صورة العمل فيه بصبغة الإنحراف والفساد، وأية عملية إصلاح لا بد أن تنطلق من الإصلاح العقائدي.
ونظراً أن الإيمان بالله تعالى هو أساس ومحور الأصول العقائدية جميعاً وسائر الأصول يرجع كلّ منها بنحو من الأنحاء إلى هذا الأصل فلقد تضمن الكتاب ثلاثة فصول هي: التوحيد، الأمر الإلهي، جزاء الطاعة والمعصية؛ ففي الفصل الأول: التوحيد، وقد جاء بحث العدل يتلو بحث إثبات الخالق، والفصل الثاني: الأمر الإلهي وهنا ينتهي بحث النبوة ببحث الإمامة، كما الفصل الثالث: ثواب الطاعة وعقاب المعصية الذي يجري تناوله تحت عنوان بحث المعاد.
