نقدم في هذا الكتاب باقة من الحوارات مع مخضرمي صناعة التأمين العربية، وحينما نتحدث عن المخضرمين فإننا نعني ذلك النفر من الفاعلين الذين عايشوا فترة نشوء قطاع التأمين الوطني في الدول العربية في خمسينيات وستينيات القرن المنصرم.
إن ما حفزنا على إجراء الحوارات هو رغبتنا في الظفر بلمحة عن تاريخ التأمين في الحقبة موضوع تلك الحوارات.
هذه الرغبة تجد مكونها أو مولدها الأساس في إدراكنا لشحة الكتابات التأمينية باللغة العربية، وغياب الكتابة عن تاريخ التأمين في الوطن العربي، هذا الغياب يعطي للشهادات الحية لأولئك الذين عايشوا الفترة موضوع إهتمامنا قيمة كبيرة.
إن غياب الإهتمام بالكتابة التاريخية عن التأمين تعني غياب المعرفة بهذا التاريخ، وأول ضحايا القصور في المعرفة بتاريخ التأمين هم جيل الشباب المؤتمن على مستقبل صناعة التأمين العربية.
فكتابنا هذا الذي يحاول أن يقدم قراءة لحقبة مهمة ماضية، هو مستقبلي النظرة بإعتباره موجّهاً إلى جيل الشباب بالدرجة الأولى، فنحن نقدم هذا العمل المتواضع خدمة للحفاظ على الذاكرة التأمينية وتواصلاً مع ماض هو جزء من الحاضر والذي سرعان ما يصير مستقبلاً.
