في هذا الكتاب ركزت وبالمختصر على تحولات فكرية واكبت التطور الإجتماعي والإنساني، والمعيار في ذلك هو العلاقة فيما بين الفكرة والفعل (النظرية والواقع)، لربما أوليت أوجه الخلل في علاقة بعض الحركات بمبررات فكرية إستندت اليها الإهتمام الأكبر، ولم أتطرق بنفس المستوى لتناغم فيما بين حركات ومقوماتها الإديولوجية كذاك الذي تميزت به الثورة الليبرالية، والذي كان الموضوع الرئيس في كتابي الآخر (جدلية العولمة).
في هذا الكتاب مقترحات تصويب العلاقة فيما بين الفكر والواقع (النظام والثقافة) يسيرة، عملا بمقولة أن ما لا ينتقد لا يرتقي أو يتطور، وبما أن الظروف متغيرة لا بد من ترك الباب مفتوحا على النقد. فيما يثبت الفكر يثبت ويثري دواعي التخلف، وإذا كان الواقع مقترنا بالفكر فإن مصير النظرية كما الكائنات أما المقاومة إثباتا للذات ورفدا للبقاء أو الإنهيار.
